What’s New In Courchevel For Winter 2019-20

Courchevel has been a hive of activity since the end of last season and there are some big, exciting changes and improvements to all of the resorts for this winter.

A new 10-seater gondola lift for Courchevel Le Praz

This is a game-changer for Courchevel Le Praz. Skiiers will quickly (in under 6 minutes) reach the centre of Courchevel 1850 in comfort to start their day skiing. The lift has been regularly tested this month and we can’t wait for it to open! In the ‘Alpinium’ the multiservice building where you’ll find the new gondola there is also a new, much needed, 2-storey indoor car park in Courchevel Le Praz.

We have catered chalets and self-catered chalets in Courchevel Le Praz that still have some availability for Winter 2019/20.

New Piste through the forest to Aquamotion

Courchevel Village is expanding with the opening of the new Écrin Blanc Hotel, located opposite Aquamotion. From December, the new Grandes Combes 4-seater chair lift and blue run will connect them both to the ski area!

Creux Noirs  – Freeride Lab

The Creux Noir area is a renowned powder spot with locals in Courchevel. A new, safer ski area for skiers who fancy tackling more challenging terrain has been developed.

“Welcome to Freeride LAB, Courchevel’s powder snow laboratory, the perfect place to become an unparalleled all-terrain skier! This demanding high-altitude sector leading to renowned off-piste areas and unique panoramic views is adopting a new look: reachable on foot or ski touring skis (100m difference in height) to the 2 red runs and the black run, which will be left ungroomed but made safe throughout the winter”

The 2020 piste map shows a route to hike and access this ungroomed area.
