02 Dec La Tania Opening Weekend 5th December
Only 3 more sleeps until La Tania’s lifts start running for the first time this winter…
Opening a week earlier than ever before, La Tania will operating its bubble lift from first thing Saturday morning so that skiers can access the slopes.
The decision to open earlier than usual is significant for La Tania; artificial snow-making equipment and excellent piste maintenance mean that the resort is able to support this early week and provide decent conditions for skiers.
What else will be open?
Val Thorens opened last weekend (28th November) with good skiing reported, especially around the glacier area. Courchevel 1850 and Le Praz 1300 lifts will also be opening on 5th so that skiers will have a large area in which to enjoy their first turns of the season. How’s the snow?
Snow coverage is already very respectable, with the recent snowfalls providing a good start to the season. Ensuing cold temperatures coupled with visits from the piste-basher teams have compacted the existing snow ensuring that a good solid foundation has been created. Our new team – currently undertaking their training programme – are very much looking forward to getting out on the slopes!
Can I come and ski?
The news of snow along with the early opening has meant we have had lots of interest in last minute ski holidays for the week commencing 12th/13th December, however we do still have some availability left (and some discounted prices!) if you’d like to sneak in a cheeky early-season ski trip. The slopes and lift queues are likely to be relatively quiet, so it’s a great opportunity to get your ski legs in gear and enjoy this new snow!
