27 Mar 6 reasons La Tania should be your next holiday destination!
La Tania is a perfect destination for a group ski holiday: part of the 3 Valleys – the largest ski area on earth – there’s easy access for all levels of skier and snowboarder as well as plenty of après-ski spots, bars and restaurants in the friendly village!
Discover exactly why La Tania is the perfect ski holiday destination:
-
Three Valleys skiing
We’ll put this one at the top of the list! With easy access to the whole of Three Valleys, La Tania is a top choice as a destination from which to explore Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens. Just one gondola and a chairlift and you can ski down on blue runs into either Courchevel or Meribel.
-
Good for mixed groups
With a lovely long green run ‘Plan Fontaine’ and the gorgeous blue Folyères, La Tania is well set up for beginners. Heading further afield on blue runs is easy, and means that intermediate skiers have a good choice of pistes and no fear of getting bored! Red run skiers are well catered for and every day can be different, with miles and miles of pistes. Advanced skiers can cross off the challenging black runs in Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens or try out the off piste and tree runs.

The après ski
La Tania may be small, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to party! There’s live music most nights (if not every night!) and a choice of bars, depending on what you’re after, and drinks prices are considerably lower than in some of the neighbouring resorts. For most visitors to the Three Valleys, the infamous Folie Douce is on the bucket list. Our top tip is to head there for a late lunch and then party on down with the cool crowd, before getting the bubble back up and over into the Courchevel Valley.
Many of our guests enjoy a last drink on the mountain in the ever popular Bouc Blanc restaurant before skiing back down into resort. Then if its raucous bands, jagerbombs and a sweaty dancefloor you’re after, it has to be Pub Le Ski Lodge!
If it’s a slightly more civilised après-ski you’re after, then the Taiga bar serves up cocktails while you kick back on the comfy leather sofas. The Hotel Montana is a popular spot with seasonnaires and has video games downstairs. The terrace of the Chrome Bar is a lovely spot to loiter for a drink, especially if your kids are sledging on the piste once the lifts have shut.
-
Affordable 3 Valleys
Whilst some resorts in the Three Valleys come with an off-putting price tag, La Tania is an affordable way to experience the largest ski area on earth. Chalet prices are very reasonable, and also offer a little touch of luxury compared to accommodation in the more renowned areas of Courchevel – many are ski in, ski out and have hot tubs, games rooms, saunas etc.
-
Chocolate-box chalets
Not only is the chalet accommodation reasonably priced, but it’s also very pretty! La Tania was developed in 1992 for the Albertville Winter Olympics and has a few apartment buildings and a lot of cutesy chalets which look charming against the forested backdrop.

Ideal for families
A car-free centre, good value accommodation and a village atmosphere mean that La Tania is a great ski destination for families. Added to this, you can literally ski straight down into the main resort area, so there’s not too much walking with ski equipment required. The restaurants and bars are generally very family-friendly and relaxed, and there’s a little play park area at the foot of the slopes. The ski school meeting points are easily accessible, and the resort crèche has a very good reputation. Children aged 4 and under can use the lifts for free, which means that they can have a ride on the La Tania bubble and meet up with skiers in the Bouc Blanc at lunchtime or for a hot chocolate. There’s a designated beginners’ area with ‘magic carpet’ situated just at the top of the bubble which is where youngsters just starting skiing will learn how to slide, and there’s also a huge giraffe and a ladybird to make it friendly and fun!
So there you have it, six reasons to choose Courchevel La Tania as your next ski holiday destination. Many of our Alpine Escape guests have been coming here for years, and now wouldn’t ski anywhere else! We have a choice of self-catered and catered chalets, all very close to the slopes and with top-notch service to make your much-deserved ski holiday run really smoothly.
