Wine List 2023/24

The 2023/24 season Alpine Escape wine list

It’s a serious business, choosing wine for our chalet guests. We use a specialist supplier called Verre Gourmand whose job it is to taste, taste and taste some more, in order to choose their very favourite wines from producers all around the world. Their huge range is then whittled down to provide us with a selection that they think will suit us and our guests.

Now it’s our turn! We work with our Verre Gourmand sommelier to handpick the 18 reds, whites and sparkling wines that we will serve to our guests. We have new tastings each winter and listen carefully to our guests’ feedback.

It doesn’t stop there… The next stage is during staff training: the chefs and hosts get together with our sommelier to discuss their menus, taste the wines and choose made-in-heaven matches for all the dishes on the menu during the week.

Have a favourite ? then why not have it again.. We usually have a good stock of all our wines so if you fancy having your favourite tipple the next evening for dinner instead of the chefs recommendations then just ask, Mi casu tu Casa.

  • About The Producer Cantina Le Mandolare – For over half a century the winery Le Mandolare has been making wine from the grapes born from the vineyards of Brognoligo, Castelcerino, Fittà and Monteforte, in the cradle of the Soave wine. A corner of the earth that had already been chosen by the Bishops of Verona for their idle gatherings back in the sixteenth century. Indeed, getting to this place from the city, the prelates found in the natural environment, still at times uncontaminated today, that natural garden created by the hills of the Alpone valley. Also for this reason the harvests needed for the wine making are selected with the goal of respecting the typologies of the area and, consequently, the natural heritage of the territory, which a decree of the Ministry of the Environment once defined as “… depictable as natural environment at 360°…”. When we speak about the “Le Mandolare” products, the Soave Superiore Docg Classico, the Soave Doc Classico and the Recioto di Soave Docg, we are talking of a process that goes from the harvesting of the grapes to the planting of the vineyards, all rigorously carried out by hand. Thus, only such a passion, traditional but in the forefront, can create wines that are able to satisfy even the most demanding palates.
